Good tidings

The Christmas lights are switched on from 24th November in Málaga, they’re always spectacularly good, and well worth a visit to see them. The best place is Calle Larios, which is also the best shopping area.  Besides Christmas gifts with a difference, you can use your shopping opportunity to pick up a party dress or two to see you through the festive season and new year celebrations ahead. A little black dress that nobody else will be wearing. Besides the usual big high street names, Málaga has some lovely individual boutiques and smaller shops. What about a little bit of local art as a personal gift? Then, of course, there’s wonderful Spanish food and drink. Someone you know will surely highly appreciate a fine Málaga wine, some sherry, or perhaps a special Spanish Jamón. One thing is for sure, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Market days

Take a stroll through the Christmas market too. It’s located from the park that runs through to the Plaza de la  Marina, and you’ll find Christmas figurines, arts, crafts, and special Christmas gifts, perhaps a unique Christmas tree decoration.  Stroll around the foot of the Alcazaba, in and around the Plaza de la Merced or around the aforementioned Calle Larios for the best of the Christmas magic, festive lights and seasonal shopping in Málaga. Visit the cathedral and the town hall for the chance to see the Christmas cribs and nativity scenes, and remember there’s plenty of time, the lights will not be switched off until Three Kings, on January 6th, 2018.
