Does Everyone Who Wants To Buy Property In Marbella Need An NIE?
Most people assume that if they are not planning to reside in Marbella, or the surrounding areas full time then they won’t need to bother with getting an NIE number. Unfortunately, absolutely everyone who wants to buy a property, buy a car or motorbike, get a job, or even set get a mobile phone or internet contract must acquire one.
When Do I Need To Apply For An NIE Number?
When acquiring a Spanish property, you should have your NIE number before the date you wish to complete on the property; and the rules state you need to apply for the NIE no less than a month in advance from inside Spain, or two months before if outside of Spain. Preparing times can fluctuate subject to how busy the authorities are; you might be fortunate and get yours in days, or you may need to wait a few weeks.
