The New Golden Mile, is the name given to the extremely up and coming area for property investment, which is the stretch of coastline between Estepona and San Pedro de Alcántara. The area has earned it name due to the several new developments, such as Golf Hills (which is a fantastic investment opportunity) and also the stunning beaches in the area, many of which are blue flag beaches, due to the cleanliness of the sand and the water.

Diana Park and Benavista are two of the first areas to be developed in the early 1990´s and these locations have become extremely popular amongst holiday home buyers, due to their attractive blend of apartments, townhouses, sports facilities, shops, bars and restaurants. Diana Park and Benavista, sit side by side at the base of the prestigious area of El Paraiso, where  luxury villas and townhouses are available, still at affordable prices, compared to the Golden Mile in Marbella. Both areas are within walking distance of the beach and other amenities, such as hotels, paddle tennis courts, supermarkets and other facilities. The properties in Benavista itself are built in the style of a Spanish white village, with colourful flowers cascading over the white walls that protect each garden.

Directly across the main road from Diana Park, on the beachside-  Benamara and El Presidente are favoured by Spanish Locals and tourists alike, who spend the summer months in the area. Benamara is home to the largest communal area in Estepona, with a spacious community pool, despite the fact it is just a stone´s throw away from the beach. Apartments, townhouses and small villas are the most common properties in this area, as well as a few luxurious, frontline beach villas. There are several excellent restaurants nearby, including the Robin Hood which serves a mouth watering Sunday roast as well as other international dishes.

The beachside developments of Costalita, sit just one kilometer to the west of Benamara and this stunning location attracts both permanent residents and tourists. Costalita is considered to be extremely safe, due to the area being monitored by CCTV and a security company which patrols the area,  to ensure a secure living environment. Properties here range from one bedroom apartments, to stunning townhouses- many of which offer incredible sea and mountain views and the best part is, there are properties available to suit all budgets. Amenities include a selection of delightful beach restaurants, supermarkets as well as a large hotel and sports facilities, such as the Villa Padierna Beach and tennis club.

Slightly further along the main road towards Estepona, Bel Air and Cancelada are a great match for  those who consider sea views to be imperative, when considering investing in a property. In a slightly elevated position, set back into the countryside of the New Golden Mile, Bel Air offers a harmonious blend of detached family villas, townhouses and apartments. The Padel Club is well known in the area and hosts different tournaments throughout the year, as well as being a great place to meet new people, whilst getting some exercise. Just off the main road, there are two large supermarkets, including the newly built Lidl, a pharmacy and luxury boat showroom. There is also a newly built gym and our favourite Indian restaurant- Jaipur purple!

The New Golden Mile is ideal location for a holiday home or permanent residence property investment and we have seen property prices gradually increasing over the past few months. The area is perfect for family living, with a child friendly atmosphere and it is well served by public transport, and pathways which make it easy to walk to the beach
