The quaint, seaside town of Estepona was governed by Marbella until 1729 at which point it was granted independent town status by royal charter. Things to do in Estepona
Aside from indulging in the usual routine of “sun, sea, sand and seafood”, Estepona also offers visitors a wide range of activities, which you should definitely include during your visit to this typical Spanish town. Some sights which are worth a visit include: the old town and the Town Clock Tower, the 15th century San Luis Castle, and the Virgen de los Remedios Church.
The port of Estepona and sports facilities, not only offer the perfect opportunity for making new friends and nightlife, it is also a “go-to” place if you enjoy browsing around street markets for souvenirs or leather goods. And if you are an avid fan of street markets, the typical Spanish “Flea Market” is held each Sunday in the main town square.
If you are travelling with male friends, or your partner, he is likely to prefer spending his time playing a round of golf at one of the world class courses in and around Estepona. Including Estepona Golf, La Resina Golf and Country Club, or El Paraiso Golf Club, which was actually designed by Gary Player.
